Toast & Taste the Fall Season at the Edible Schoolyard Kern County

Local establishments come together to craft locally-sourced food + drinks paired with an evening of local music in the garden

Bakersfield, Calif. (SEPT. 13, 2022)Today, The Edible Schoolyard Kern County (ESYKC) launched ticket sales for their signature community fundraiser, Toast & Taste. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to explore seasonal flavors and locally sourced foods, in an array of exclusive creations made especially for the event.

“The evening will be filled with carefully curated tastings and experiences you won’t find anywhere else,” said ESYKC Program Director, Dylan Wilson. “Our signature Toast & Taste event is a unique seasonal experience curated specifically for our community.”

To celebrate, Temblor Brewing Company collaborated with the ESYKC to create a special seasonal ale that will only be available at the event. Additionally, ESYKC will serve a seasonally inspired cocktail created by The Botanist, a new establishment from the team that brought you Cafe Smitten. They look forward to opening their new neighborhood restaurant and bar in Downtown Bakersfield this winter.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to let out their inner foodie,  enjoy great wine and spirits, and connect with the community through shared purpose,” said Wilson. “All proceeds will help us expand our mission of edible education to students through our signature programs in the garden.”

Food and drinks will also be provided by:

Cooking demonstrations and support will be provided by the Bakersfield College, Culinary Arts Department.

To set the mood in the garden the ESYKC will also welcome musical guests Jonathan Weinmann and Ryan Coulter, who will reunite to bring the country sounds of Bakersfield they once shared across the United States.
